Two New Members to be honoured . . . COLLINGWOOD SPORTS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONIES Saturday, Sept. 06, 2008 July 29, 2008 The directors of the Collingwood Sports Hall of Fame are pleased to announce the bi-annual COLLINGWOOD SPORTS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONIES will be hosted at the Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club. The public response following the Request for Nomination was immediate with two (2) new members representing the athletic spectrum to be honoured: Wayne Hunwicks Builder - Football Jim McAllister Athlete – Fastball This year, we are very pleased to welcome George Black as our guest speaker. George recently completed a 4 year term as the Director of Officiating following 22 seasons as an on-field official and referee from 1979 - 2000; Officiating Supervisor for three seasons and worked six Grey games. We look forward to George’s colourful stories of his career alongside a video presentation of the “behind the scenes” perspective for sport’s officials. The agenda for the evening is as follows: 6:30 p.m. - Cocktails 7:00 p.m. - Introduction of VIP's, Directors, Hall of Fame Members . . . 7:15 p.m. - Dinner 8:15 p.m. - Guest Speaker - George Black 8:45 p.m. -Sports Hall of Fame - Induction Ceremonies 9:15 p.m. - Closing Remarks This event will mark the 33rd year since the Hall’s inception and has been coordinated to join the numerous community events celebrating the Town of Collingwood’s sesquicentennial (150th) anniversary. Tickets for this evening are $35.00 per person and will go on sale – Monday, August 4.
