Collingwood, ON,

–
Come watch a team that has no spectators…just witnesses!
This Saturday marks the start
of the Georgian Bay Titan RFC’s inaugural season, and the official launch of the
regions’ first rugby club.
Games will be held at
Collingwood Collegiate High School starting at ___ am on Saturday and will
continue throughout the day. The schedule will include…
Rugby
is not new to
Georgian Bay
– many communities already have flourishing high school rugby programs – however
players and fans have not been able to enjoy league play until now.
“Rugby
is an incredible game to be a part of, either as a player or a spectator,” said
club founder and President, Roger Tomlinson, “Rugby is a fast-paced game that
rewards teams for their physical strength, athletic finesse and on-field
creativity. It is no wonder that rugby is one of Canada’s fastest growing
sports”.
Games are free to watch and
spectators are welcome. Team coaches, players and administrators will be on
hand to explain the rules of the game and answer any questions about the club.
In addition, the Titans
continue to welcome new players, volunteers and sponsors. Interested parties
can meet with team organizers at the CCI fields on Saturday or contact the club
at
705.446.0200.
