You can even set up your classifieds program so that all the fields are common! In some cases, it can make a good sense: e.g. if you have cars and only cars in every categories, probably all the categories have just the same list of custom fileds. The strength of the common fields will really show up in defining custom ad lists! E.g. the 'Recent ads' list can contain ads from many different categories, but if you have common fields, you need not be restricted to show only the 'Title', 'Description', and 'Category' columns in the list any more - you can choose any common field to be a column in the list!

Relocating ads from one category into an other is possible with the 'move' feature on a per advertisement basis. If you want to create duplicates of whole categories (with all their custom fields, but without their ads and sub categories!), you can use the 'clone' feature under the 'Organize categories' menu point.
