Sheffer case wraps up in Barrie
Enterprise-Bulletin (Tue, January 9, 2000)
BARRIE - The scheduled three-day trial of Collingwood's former director of economic development is expected to wrap up later today.
Joe Sheffer, 58, faces charges of assault, attempting to obstruct justice and breach of court orders from February and April of last year.  The defendant is represented by defense counsel Mary Hall.
Yesterday in a Barrie courtroom, Assistant Crown Attorney Lorne McConnery conferred at length with Crown John Alexander before declaring to the court the case "legally resolved."
The case will continue this morning at 10 a.m. before Mr. Justice G.W. Beatty in the Superior Court of Justice.
