Oakville man missing

Collingwood Now - 13 April 2001 - TWJ
Canada Coast Guard confirmed at 9:15 am this morning that a Labrador helicopter, Hercules aircraft and a coast guard cutter are engaged in search for a missing Oakville fisherman. The helicopter made numerous passes over Collingwood during the early morning hours before sunrise, shining giant flood lights along the shoreline, awakening local residents to the emergency.
1492_1.gif (73980 bytes)The missing boater was reported overdue to authorities yesterday evening. A passerby late yesterday afternoon noted a small craft off Thornbury harbour seemed to be having engine difficulties. Also involved in the search are members of the Thornbury Police department and Collingwood's O.P.P. detachment.
