SANTA ANA, Calif., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- A class action settlement has been approved by the Orange County Superior Court that provides for cash payments to all persons who purchased certain wood playground equipment manufactured by Hedstrom Corporation. All persons who purchased wood play sets from Toys R Us or similar stores between July 1999 and July 2003 should call 1-800-768-5658 for additional information on submitting a claim for compensation. Information can also be downloaded from the Internet website at www.hedstromplayequipmentsettlement.com. The deadline to submit a claim is November 21, 2004. Consumers who submit valid claims will typically receive between $50 and $100. There is no purchase obligation. The payments are pursuant to a court order.
