A light earthquake occurred at 21:16:24 (UTC) on Thursday, October 20, 2005. The magnitude 4.0 event has been located in SOUTHERN ONTARIO, CANADA, and strongly felt in Collingwood.

Magnitude 4.2-earthquake rocks central Ontario

A "light" earthquake rocked a wide area of central Ontario on Thursday afternoon but likely caused no damage, a seismologist with the Geological Survey of Canada said.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 MN occurred on 2005-10-20 at 21:16:29 Universal Time.
The epicentre was located at latitude 44.66 North and longitude 80.4 West. 12 km N from Thornbury and 24 km NW of Collingwood. The magnitude was determined from 8 stations of the GSC. No Damage. Felt in Thornbury, Collingwood, Meaford, Owen Sound, Barrie.
