Alcoa Wheel Products, Collingwood is contemplating closing its aluminum wheel manufacturing facility

November 17, 2006 - It was announced today that Alcoa Wheel Products, Collingwood is contemplating closing its aluminum wheel manufacturing facility.  This decision is as a result of the loss and pending loss of key contracts with General Motors, Chrysler and Honda.  The continued operation of the plant does not appear to be economically viable.  Over the next two to three weeks the Company and Union will meet to discuss the contemplated shutdown.
