Stephen Kabakos is describing the moment when he
first walked into the vintage
Gayety Theatre in
Downtown Collingwood. “I got these goose bumps, and could
not speak for a moment. The theatre looks exactly like the
theatre used as the set for the 1957 film
Loving You,
starring Elvis Presley®.
I turned to Festival Manager,
Rosemarie O’Brien,
and we both immediately agreed the theme of the show would
be a Salute to Loving You,
the musical film that is also famous for Elvis’ first
on-screen kiss.” |
