For Immediate Release PLUNGE MAKES A SPLASH AT THE VILLAGE AT BLUE A unique aquatic centre opens in the heart of Intrawest’s Village at Blue Mountain in Collingwood, Ontario Town of the Blue Mountains, ON, April 3, 2006 – Plunge, the much-anticipated indoor-outdoor water play facility at the Village at Blue Mountain, is set to open April 12, 2006. The 10,000 square-foot boathouse-style public aquatic centre boasts state-of-the-art water features, indoor and outdoor heated pools, hot tubs, water slides, fitness classes and lounging decks. Located at the base of Blue Mountain, in the heart of the Village at Blue, Plunge has something for everyone from toddler to teen and beyond. According to Kathy Boose, Recreation Manager for Plunge, this is an exciting addition to the Village at Blue Mountain. “This aquatic centre will appeal to the guests of the resort, owners in the area and the locals from the community. This is a place where families can return from a day at the slopes, or a mountain bike ride and unwind in the hot tubs or cool off in the splash pools. Plunge is a place to be a kid again and indulge in nothing but fun.” Craig Watters, Intrawest’s Vice President of Development, North East, says that Plunge is a critical part of the overall vision of the Village. “Plunge is a part of the whole resort experience – the skiing, the golf, the shopping, the relaxation, and the recreation,” says Watters. “Having an all-season water park located in the Village adds another element to our guest’s experience. As a key facet of the Master Plan, Plunge is a year-round, weatherproof addition to what is already a vibrant Village.” Plunge will be open from 9am to 9pm, 365 days of the year. Those who purchase a pass to Plunge for the morning, evening, entire day or even a season, will have access to a family change room, complimentary towel service, Tuck Shop, deck chairs and of course the breathtaking view of the Millpond and Blue Mountain. Prices vary according to length of stay and age group. I.e.: A family of four can spend the day at Plunge for $42 and a single season pass for a 13+ child is $408. Plunge is owned and operated by the Blue Mountain Village Association. The Village at Blue www.villageatblue.com is a 32-acre (13-hectare), multi million-dollar development at Blue Mountain, Ontario’s pre-eminent ski resort and favourite all-season destination.
