Alarms bylaw in Blue
Mountains
2 September 2007Town of the Blue
Mountains residents will have to fork out a little more to protect their
homes.
The town's Security Alarm by-law kicks
into effect.
That means homeowners have to pay 25
dollars and businesses 50 to register their security systems with the town
for three years.
This by-law was enacted by the Town's
Police Services Board because of the growing number of false alarms.
Last Year, police responded to over 11
hundred false alarms, which costs them about three hundred dollars each
time.
If you aren't registered and your house
alarm goes off without cause, you could be charged a 200 hundred dollar
administration fee.
You can register at the municipal offices
of the Town of The Blue Mountains at 26 Bridge Street in Thornbury. |
