Little Ed’s, the Collingwood
full service bike, paddling ski and board shop which, though small
in size, has always placed an emphasis on great customer service has
moved to a new, larger location to serve you better.

After 15 years serving Collingwood riders and 5
years under present ownership at the previous location, Little Ed’s has
moved up in the world to a bigger and better space. After some hard work
to get the location up, running and ready for business they’ve got more
space to stock more of the stuff you need so that you can be out enjoying
your new gear and rather than waiting for catalogue orders as well as an
expanded service area to have your bike tuned up and back on the trails
quicker than ever before. On top of that the new space looks a ton better;
drop by and check it out! Located at 15 Balsam St in the brand new plaza
on the North-East corner of High St. and Mountain Rd. just to the right of
the Galaxy theatre, Little Ed’s is a short and easy 10 minute drive from
Blue Mountain and is right on the way of anyone driving to Blue via
Collingwood.
For the past 2 years Little Ed’s has acted as the title sponsor and
facilitator for the DropIn Ontario events. DropIn Ontario brings
professional riders to interact with the MTB community as well as meet and
ride with their fans in Southern Ontario where they would otherwise rarely
travel, distributes a boat load of swag to fans and attendees has also
been able to raise enough money to contribute significant amounts to the
Canadian Cancer Society each year. In addition to providing a venue for
the events and technical support, Little Ed’s staff and owners do tons of
mostly thankless logistic work behind the scenes making sure these events
go off with a bang. The dirt park built behind the shop for the previous 2
years’ events has always been opened up to the public so everybody has
another place to ride.
This year Little Ed’s was approached about the opportunity to act as the
local shop sponsor for the Blue Mountain DH O-Cup #4. With a tent set up
right at the finish, they were in prime real estate to view a race that
went off smoothly with a ton of fast riders ranging from first timers to
seasoned veterans completing the entire O-Cup DH circuit to fast locals
out to make a point on their home trails. When the results were in Taylor
Rowlands, a local and a Little Ed’s sponsored/supported rider, had the
second best time of the day with a large time differential over not only
the other riders in his category but also all but one rider in the pro
field!
And remember, Little Ed’s is about
more than just bikes. If you’re into XC skiing, snowboarding, paddling on
Georgian Bay or gourmet ice cream Little Ed’s has your back! In addition
to the previously strong stance in XC skiing and snowboards, the ski and
board tuning facilities are been expanded for this winter to keep your
bases sliding fast and edges carving like Hermann Maier. Little Ed’s Sweet
Side (formerly Indulge) Ice Cream has also moved to the new location to
keep you well supplied with some of the best ice cream in Southern
Ontario. |
