Collingwood, ON – April 4, 2007 (CGX.UN) – Cineplex Entertainment is pleased

to announce that construction is nearing completion for the new Galaxy Cinemas

Collingwood. The seven-screen, 26,000 square foot theatre is located at 2

Mountain Road and will welcome its first guests next month.

“We have been looking forward to bringing a state-of-the-art theatre to

Collingwood for some time now,” said Pat Marshall, Vice President of

Communications and Investor Relations for Cineplex Entertainment. “Galaxy

Cinemas Collingwood will be a fantastic addition to Collingwood’s four season

resort destination and we’re excited that both residents and visitors in

Collingwood and from surrounding communities will soon have an exceptional

entertainment destination to enjoy.”

The new Galaxy Cinemas Collingwood will cost more than $5 million to build and

has created a variety of job opportunities in Collingwood. The seven-month

building process has created over eighty new construction jobs and will offer

more than 50 permanent and part-time jobs once the theatre opens.

“Theatres attract people of all ages from far and wide, increasing traffic to nearby

businesses,” said Collingwood Mayor Chris Carrier. “It is great for Collingwood to

have its own cinema complex that will be enjoyed by both the residents of

Collingwood and visitors. This theatre also offers great employment opportunities

for many young people, often in their first job.”

A job fair is being held this weekend for various part-time positions at the theatre,

such as Box Office, Food Service and Guest Service attendants. Interested

applicants, who are 16 years of age or older, can apply. Bring your resume to

The new Galaxy Cinemas Collingwood will feature all stadium seating (each seat

row will be 18” higher than the previous row); wall-to-wall, giant, curved screens;

large, luxurious seats with ample legroom and Dolby Digital Surround Sound.

The concessions include traditional movie fair such as popcorn, candy and soft

drinks in addition to a wide selection of low-fat and no-fat frozen yoghurts and

offer a number of interactive video games and activities and is accessible without

the purchase of a movie ticket.
